In these days of increasing electronic Customer service there is a growing reduction in personal relationships – this means that you need to go out of your way to meet and establish a relationship with organisations and people who are key to your business success.

There used to be a time when your Bank Manager knew almost everything about your business and when you needed some assistance the approval (after a little bit of paperwork) usually rested on your relationship and the Bank Manager’s understanding of your business. That’s not so much the case these days – but it could be.

Surprise your Bank manager, ring up to make an appointment and introduce yourself. Your Bank Manager will be:

  1. Surprised to hear from you,
  2. Even more surprised when you don’t want anything other than to meet him/her and tell them a little about your business &
  3. Your Bank Manager will have an initial positive view of your professional business approach – this might come in very useful later when you do approach the Bank for some help.

Just a quick suggestion, in making this initial ‘friendly’ meeting – don’t use it as an opportunity to make complaints about service – use it as an opportunity to establish the relationship.
